THE MITHERAL HALLS

                               The Mitheral Halls
The Mitheral Halls, home of the dwarven people, took more than four centuries to complete. Built deep within a chain of mountains, its vast chambers once coursed with rich veins of Mitheral. Those veins are now long gone, yet in their place remains a treasure greater still: a vast storehouse of runic knowledge and some of the finest crafting techniques in all the realms.
The gates of the Mitheral Halls are massive, strong enough to hold back even Titans — for a time. For nearly five centuries, however, the dwarves have endured a relentless scourge. Since the First Undead War, a cursed army has returned year after year to lay siege to their halls. At first this nearly broke them, but in time the dwarves grew hardened. Their defenses became unyielding, their resolve unshakable, until these once-dreaded wars turned almost one-sided.
Eventually, the dwarves embraced the yearly assault as a trial by fire. They came to use it as both a measure of skill and a rite of passage for their young. As a result, the average dwarf is not only proud but battle-tested — and more than capable of proving it with steel.
